A story at the Speed of Light
Fibrecast was growing and elements of the services had changed and their existing branding no longer reflected this. Ocho were asked to provide a new logo and branding that reflected the new changes to the services offered by the business. We also were asked to advise and produce material for an effective social media strategy.
Key Project Elements
We started with the new services which were all to do with a new kind of connection service that provided much faster and more reliable speeds than before for residential and business communities in the area. We looked at the type of service and used the fibre optic cables as inspiration largely for the logo but also the branding which we felt should contain a lot of representations of connection. Unlike the previous branding which focused largely on the equipment we instead opted to show the user experience side of the device. We felt audiences weren’t interested in how the wifi got to them but in what possibilities it opened up for them. So we focussed on fast but fun illustrations showing unimpeded service and chose images of people looking relaxed and unimpeded. As a smaller company the focus on people was of paramount importance to show that this is a knowledgeable company with a great product that is FOR people to enjoy and connect with.
What We Did
The final image is intended to be clean and recognisable and convey that really important message: Speed! the 'F' is made of 2 key elements. The dots making up the F are intended to resemble the optical cables looking head on. The 'F' itself is in an italic formation to appear dynamic, and in motion. The two elements come together and communicate fast broadband. The colour choices were intended to feel cool and calming to appeal to families and young professionals alike.
The final result was a modern t-shirt design that stayed true to the passionate roots of the past but utilised modern design and styling to produce a modern
